Making Girlfriends...

So I have written on here before about making girlfriends as an adult...it's harder than you think. I feel so lucky that when I moved here (to Boston for the Hubs!) 2 years ago, that my best friend from college lived here. I think I would have been totally lost without her. 2 years later, I have about 7 really good girlfriends in Boston and I feel thankful for that. It's weird trying to make new friends, especially when you left a place where you had tons of them all around you. Oh, I still miss you New York! I still laugh when I'm waiting for a new girlfriend to text me back...I swear it's like you are dating. So weird! Making couple friends is weird too, but that is for a different day. I stumbled across this blog, MWF Seeking BFF, and I laughed out loud. You have to check it out. I think so many of us can relate to what she writes about! Any of you out there seeking a new BFF in your city?

  3. Couldn't agree with this post more! A have a ton of wonderful girlfriends in NYC that I've known for years, but since moving to the burbs I've been trying to make some new local friends, and it's hard! Definitely need to check out this website.

  4. Oh making girlfriends once you are out of college is SOOO hard! Even if you are in the JL and other similar groups. I make friends all the time but a friend friend is near impossible.

  5. Making friends in college was so easy, you were all in the same boat; now in a post-grad world, friend groups are often already established. It can be nerve-wracking trying to break-in, or fit into a new peer group.

  6. OMG! Haha, this blog is great! Thank you so much for this post. I recently found out that after my wedding this May, my husband and I will have to move to Chicago. I only know two acquaintences out there. I need a heavy-duty winter coat and Chicago friends STAT!!

  8. Just downloaded the book for my kindle! I am definitely on the hunt for some new BFFs in Ohio. I made a few good girlfriends through Junior League, but am hoping to meet more people now that I am done with school and getting "settled" here for awhile. :)
