Hearting...STRIPES

As we are nearing Spring and eventually summer,
I can't help but start to think nautical.
I am loving stripes this week!

This bag by Nila Anthony adds a little South of France style to any basic outfit.
(and at $37, it's a steal!)
Espadrilles are chic
and I love this seafaring pair from Soludos.
Fun sweater in classic colors from Topshop.

MakeUp Trial #1

I had my first makeup trial yesterday. Positive note, I found I do like the airbrushing technique, it's very light and looks natural, I could even see my freckles! I did like the makeup better in person than it was photographing but that could be because I was taking the pictures myself!
I am off to a second trial tomorrow.
Below are some pictures from the first trial (not the greatest pics!).

Florida House!

Last February, my parents purchased a home in Florida. So exciting -- hello, winter getaways! Well in just under a year they completely gutted the place, renovated it and decorated it. I was down at the house last week and it's coming along beautifully! My sisters are actually hosting my bachelorette party there in April and I am so excited. Here are a few pics I snapped last week.
(*The house is still being decorated
and I am not the best photographer but you get the idea*)

Wedding Makeup!

I am headed to New York for a couple of days this week to meet with a few different makeup artists and have some trials done. Hopefully, by the end of the week I will have booked my makeup artist for the wedding! I am a little bit particular about makeup and usually know exactly what I want, however, it is sometimes hard to articulate the exact look you are going for and since it's MY WEDDING, I am being a little bit crazy with finding the perfect look. I know I want my makeup to be soft, beachy and warm. It's a Hamptons wedding after-all. I having been trying to pull some looks from online and magazines to bring with me to the trials.
I also have a question, a lot of the makeup artists really want to do "airbrush" makeup...I have never had it done before and I am a little nervous that it will look heavy. Has anyone done airbrushing before? Thoughts?! Concerns?!

Love this look, simple and clean,
I would have a brighter lip thought.

Love, Love, LOVE!
I am loving the subdued smoky eye,
I just am not sure I want it for the wedding.
I like this picture because I love how the models skin looks so flawless...

AMAZING!

This year I sent a Valentine to the children at Children's National Medical Center in D.C.
Their original goal was to receive a total of 1,500 Valentine Day Cards. They received almost 3,477 cards and this is what all that love looks like:

Amazing!

Valentine's Day Recap (a little late)...

I had a wonderful Valentine's Day with the fiance ~ MMB is the best! One of my gifts to him was a box of the Williams-Sonoma Croissants that I have heard so much about. Well, I can tell you they were delicious and they are a great item to have on hand in the freezer for breakfast for guests! They come frozen and immediately need to go into the freezer, the night before you want to make them, you simply take out the desired amount of croissants and let them thaw overnight. In the morning, you can put a little egg bath on them to achieve the golden brown crust and you pop them in the oven. 20 minuets later tada ~ homemade pastries!

Well I am in Florida and off to enjoy the gorgeous sunshine!

MMB got me beautiful flowers,
a Bliss gift certificate and dinner at Hamersley's!

Almost ready...

Paper Products For The Wedding!

Alyssa Tierney, owner of A. Tierney and Monograms off Madison, has been a huge help with my wedding planning. Recently, she helped me order some paper products for the big day. We did hostess napkins for the bathrooms, cocktail napkins for the bar and
stirrers for our signature drink!
*Thanks AT for all of your help!

Check out the website for tons of great gift and wedding ideas!

Wedding Wednesday: Cake Tasting!

A few weeks ago MMB and I had our CAKE TASTING - it was soooo much fun! We are getting our wedding cake from Sugar Sugar in Westhampton Beach, they really have the most fabulous sweets and I know our cake is going to be amazing.
We are actually doing three different flavors, they were all so good we had trouble deciding.
Our guests are in for a treat and will be getting a taste of each of the flavors.
I want to keep some of the flavors a surprise but my personal fav that will be in our wedding cake was lemon chiffon cake with a key lime curd filling - YUM!

About to begin the tasting!
*Don't mind our jackets,
the electricity was out at the shop from a snow storm!
DELISH!
So fun ~ can't wait for 6-25-11!
