Love IT!

We are starting to think about wedding songs and I have to say,
I just am loving "Marry Me" by Train.

Forever can never be long enough for me
Feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do

Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way
Marry Me
Today and every day
Marry Me
If I ever get the nerve to say
Hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm

Together can never be close enough for me
Feel like I am close enough to you
You wear white and I'll wear out the words I love
And you're beautiful
Now that the wait is over
And love and has finally shown her my way
Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm

Promise me
You'll always be
Happy by my side
I promise to
Sing to you
When all the music dies

And marry me
Today and everyday
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Marry me
Mm-hmm

Five MUST Haves!

Bestie MCV at Beantown Prepster tagged me to list 5 things that I can't leave home without.
So here we go... My Five!

1. My engagement ring! This lovely bauble is on me at all times, I am obsessed with it and feel is it the most perfect engagement ring ever (of course I am slightly biased). I feel so lucky to be engaged to love of my life and every time I look down at my left hand I still get butterflies. Heart you, MMB and can't wait for 6-25-11!

2. My Blackberry. Really, I should probably attend rehab for being slightly addicted to my PDA, it's a sickness really. I have it on me at all times. That little red light signaling I have some type of message, whether it be a BBM, email or text...it's my kryptonite.

3. My Tom Ford "Callae" shades are perfect for hiding jet lag.

4. Vaseline - it is the BEST thing for your lips! I do not leave home without it, EVER. I have multiple containers of it and I keep them in every bag and on my nightstand. Nothing cute about chapped lips.

5. My fav shade for my weekly manicure. Lollipop by Essie sold exclusively at JCrew. During this snowy Boston winter, this shade makes me smile!

TAG, bloggers below, you're it!
I'm dying to see what 5 things you can't leave home without!

Wedding Wednesday: Getaway Car

My dad surprised MMB and I by getting us this beautiful car for our wedding weekend. My dad picked this particular car because he loved the idea of incorporating "Nantucket Red" into the color choice of the car. I think the color is so unexpected and unique, and perfect for our wedding! My dad and I will drive the car to the Church for the ceremony and MMB and I will drive from the ceremony to the reception in this fabulous ride.
We couldn't be more excited.
Thanks Daddy!

Wedding Wednesday: Sneak Peak at Rentals!

I had the most wonderful day picking out the china, stemware, flatware, and linens for the wedding. I am exhausted, it was a long day filled with tons of little details but I love everything we picked out and I think our reception decor will be just fabulous!
Here is a sneak peak at some items we picked out.

Navy Pintuck tablecloths,
I think it added a little more interest than the plain navy cotton tablecloths.
Bamboo Chairs in a Rosewood
Seat cushion in White Irish Linen

Simple yet classic diamond embossed white china

Valencia Pearl White Charger

More to come. We are doing a full mock up with flowers in March, I can't wait!

Wedding Planning Filled Week!

Well I am home in NY this week for tons of wedding planning! I am so excited, I just know it is going to be such a fun and exciting time. Today, I spent a few hours with my good friend Alyssa Tierney, owner of A. Tierney and her newest venture, her store, Monograms off Madison. The new store is tres fab and I ordered tons of little things for the wedding and took care of some of my bridesmaids gifts! It was a great afternoon. Tomorrow I am off to order our wedding invitations - ahhhh!

Bridesmaids Shoe!

I know I am the annoying bride-to-be out here, but I really wanted all of my bridesmaids to wear the same shoe. I don't care what they switch into once we are done with pictures but during the ceremony and photos, I really wanted a unified look. My bridesmaids dresses by LulaKate were on the pricier side, so I was really hoping to find a simple gold sandal that was under $50. I found them! They are by Kelly & Katie and we ordered them through the DSW website. Best part is, they were only $39.95 and we scored free shipping. Yay! I would encourage all brides-to-be out there, to check out DSW, great options for bridesmaid shoes.

Wedding Wednesday: Vintage Stamps

Wedding invitations are on my mind! We have an appointment with our stationer on January 18th and I cannot wait. I have a general idea of what I would like our wedding suite to look like but now I am starting to think about the outside of the invitation. Ideally, I would like to have a calligrapher address the envelopes but I need to price that service out and find someone. If you have any recommendations, I would love referrals!
Another idea I have become completely obsessed with is the idea of vintage stamps on the envelope. I think the fabulous Martha Stewart mainstreamed this idea and I just LOVE it. However, finding a collection of vintage stamps that make up enough postage (usually $.61 to $.78) and have a unifying theme is hard work. I have done some research and found some resources on Etsy. Ebay also has tons of vintage stamps. Friends have told me SeaJay Stamp and Coin is a fabulous resource but can be pricey...their ebay store is currently closed until February 1st. Did anyone out there use vintage stamps on your wedding invitations?

Monogram Monday!

My Aunt Mary, gave MMB and I a very fun Christmas present this year...
monogrammed luggage tags!
She had my married monogram put on my tag, I love it.
It is my first item I have received with my new monogram on it.
We can't wait to use these luggage tags for our honeymoon to Italy!

The luggage tags are from Pottery Barn and make a great gift for anyone!

*Thanks Aunt Mary!

House Plants!

With the New Year being here, I've decided it is time to spruce up the potted plants on my windowsill. I was flipping through Southern Living and I saw this beautiful picture of an anthurium, love it. I am going to get one and I will keep you posted on how it goes.
What plants do you have in your house?

About Anthuriums:
Native to the American Tropics, anthuriums marry glossy, deep green leaves with spectacular blooms of red, pink, orange, or white. No flowers last longer indoors—up to three months from the time they open. Cut flowers last several weeks in water.

How to Grow: Give them bright light but not direct sun. Feed monthly during active growth with a liquid 20-20-20 product. Grow them in coarse, well-drained soil that you let go slightly dry between thorough waterings. Keep temperature above 65 degrees. Clip off old flowers at bases of plants.

How to Display: Growing 12 to 15 inches tall, anthuriums are perfect for tables, countertops, windowsills, and pedestals. Show off the long-lasting cut flowers in pretty vases.

Wedding Wednesday: The Honeymoon!

We're booked and going to ITALY!
We are so thrilled to spend two weeks in Italy for our honeymoon!

We will arrive in Venice and are excited to explore the city and ride gondolas!

Then it is onto Lake Como, for a few days of relaxation and horseback riding!

All aboard! We will be taking the train from Lake Como to Florence...
where we plan to eat and drink our way through the city.

After Florence, we will be staying in Positano and enjoying the coast. We are actually planning on driving
and exploring the Amalfi coast...it should be interesting!

Finally, we end our fabulous honeymoon outside of Rome at the amazing La Posta Vecchia!

(or your Mom but you probably already do that!)

Untangle a necklace.

Check your voicemail.

Move some random files on your computer desktop to the correct folders.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all!
2010 was extremely special for many reasons but June 4, 2010 was the best day of the year for me, MMB asked me to MARRY him. In June 2011, just about a year from when he popped the question we will be tying the knot -- I cannot wait for him to be my husband :)
I know 2011 will be an extremely special year for me and
I can't wait to begin all new adventures this year.
Thanks to all of you who have read my blog and
have been apart of my special moments in 2010!
Wishing you all the best this year.
In 2011, I will be enjoying and savoring all the little moments.
