And I'm Off!

I'm heading south for a few days to visit my grandparents in North Carolina! I just love it there! As much as I love grammy and gramps, they do not have Internet - ahhh! So I will be on a blogging vacation until then! I will be twittering away -- so make sure you keep up to date by following my tweets!
Have a GREAT week!

Eyebrow Crisis!

So I am having an eyebrow crisis, I am very particular about where I have my eyebrows waxed and shaped, I have the most wonderful woman in NYC who I usually go to. However, I was in a jam here in Boston and decided that I would just have to start getting them done here -- well that was that a mistake! I feel like my perfect brows are now butchered! AHHH!
They are just way to far apart in the middle.
So now I have been a mad woman searching for treatments to make the brows grow back ASAP!
I have heard this serum from Anastasia works well, it can be bought at Sephora. Have any of you used it?!

I have also been told that things like Castor oil can help stimulate hair growth? Any thoughts?!

MIJA Jewelry...

I found this fabulous brand while working at the NY Gift Show last week. MIJA (pronounced Mee-Jah) Jewelry is simply stunning! The collection is crafted from the finest quality gold, silver, gemstones, and pearls. The pieces are cast from original hand-carved wax sculptures and the gemstones are individually set by hand. MIJA's creator Michelle Guest is so very talented and just as nice!
And for all you Mommy's out there, this line also has jewelry for the little ones -- so cute!

Witty Words by L.A.B!

I am so excited to announce that BFF L.A.B has opened her own biz! She has always been the talented rhymer in our group of friends, and is usually put it charge of coming up with witty toasts or speeches for our friends. Well she has gotten so popular, that she is extending her talents to the rest of the world with Witty Words by L.A.B!
If you need a toast from a birthday to bridal shower, L.A.B is your girl!
Keep her in mind the next time you are asked to say a few words -- she won't let you down.
I am so proud of my best friend!
xoxo KAG

**The Toast L.A.B created for my going away party back in May!**
KAG's Going Away Toast!
It all started in a land known as SHA circa 1998
This is definitely a story you will all appreciate...

Think “Tiffany’s v. Roxy”
North Shore v. the South...
This snotty girl from Manhasset
v. the poser chick with a big mouth...

We were thrown together
In plaid uniforms of green
The greatest rivalry SHA had ever seen

All of Freshman year we bickered and we fought
“We will NEVER be friends”
Or so we thought

Then, weekend upon weekend, we rolled with the same RVC crew
Gossiping over Pete, Nick, Brendan, and good ol’Mikey Lu ...
As it turned out, we had a lot in common, and slowly became friends...
And by the time we got our sophomore pins, we had made amends!

High school was full of great times
We became the best of friends
We lived life to the fullest
And started some serious trends

Lunch time was excessive
And often times extreme
With “Track is Back” in 2nd
The “The Sistas” reigned supreme

I wouldn’t trade those years for anything
They were our “golden years”
But college breaking us apart
Was one of our biggest fears

After freshman year, our friends were all set
We were called the "Penthoes", who could ever forget?
Sophomore year a new transfer rolled into school.
A friend of Sapo and Nanno's, we guessed she might be cool.

She made herself comfy, her presence was known
Even though she lived far from the quad, in a scary dorm all alone.
But she was athletic, sprinting from rapists, keeping her guard,
Even if it was just a poor boy returning her wildcard.

Every Wednesday was Christmas, as we ventured to our black hole,
Pj Henry's we called it, blacking out was the goal.
The music started bumpin, cue the disco lights and fog,
Circa 1 am, you could count on K**** to frog.

She had some love affairs, if that's the word you would choose,
But if she stuck with one instead of M***, she might have been on E News.
Though skinny and scrawny, some might say he was dapper,
You know who I mean, Nova's one and only White Rapper.

Sister, it’s been 11 years now
And here we all stand
Toasting to you, your boyf ...
And a big move to another land

So here’s to you and your bright road ahead
We all love you lots...It must be said

We wish you the best of luck
Hope you enjoyed our little diddy,
& in true KAG fashion we leave off with
“K**** you’re so Pretty”

New Uses for Old Things!

I'm sure I have mentioned this before but I am obsessed with Real Simple (the magazine), when it comes in the mail, I'm like a kid in a candy store, I simply stop whatever I am doing and start reading - the magazine is full of so many, many great ideas, I also love the recipes in the mag! I usually rip out the pages of ideas that I know I will try and I was just going through my stack when I came across this one!

Tissue Box as Grocery Bag Holder

(as seen in Real Simple)

Original purpose: Helping you through a weepie movie.

Aha! use: Storing plastic grocery bags under the kitchen sink. After An Affair to Remember has exhausted your supply of tissues, stuff the bags into the empty box.

Reward: Restored order in your cabinets and bags ready for reuse.

I love this tip and still use it to this day. I've always used plastic grocery bags (when I am not using my recycled grocery tote) as garbage bags for the small bins in the bathroom and such. However, the plastic bags would take up a whole drawer in the kitchen but now with my Tissue Box as Grocery Bag Holder, I am oh so organized!

PS! So excited for the Boston Blogger Meet Up tonight!

Sonya Renee Jewelry!

I am in LOVE with Sonya Renee Jewelry! And for all you Texan girls out there, SR is right out of Dallas! Beyond cute - I am obsessed with her initial plates and monogrammed necklaces. Monogrammed necklaces make the perfect gift, I think they are so timeless -- you will have it forever! How cute would this be for a bridesmaid gift?! I have to say I am a gold phase right now, so I think I would choose that over this silver one.
Either way I am just in LOVE!
Happy Monday!
